CondeHouse

CondeHouse, a wooden furniture manufacturer established in 1968, has maintained an unwavering commitment to creating enduring products for global markets while specializing in manufacturing within Asahikawa, Hokkaido—one of Japan's premier furniture production regions. Founded on the principle of "creating beloved, long-lasting products and sharing them with the world," the company has consistently pursued uncompromising product development in collaboration with domestic and international designers. Our design philosophy integrates the aesthetic sensibilities cultivated by Hokkaido's natural environment and Japanese cultural heritage into both our design approach and manufacturing processes. Through our wooden furniture offerings, we propose comprehensive lifestyle and workspace solutions that foster long-term customer attachment and satisfaction. Furniture manufacturing fundamentally depends on forest timber as a natural resource. As global environmental concerns intensify, CondeHouse has reinforced its commitment to "nature-harmonized manufacturing"—a core value we have cherished since our founding. Our sustainable practices include maximizing wood utilization by incorporating wood scraps and sawdust into production, actively sourcing timber from forest thinning operations that promote healthy forest growth, and transitioning from imported materials to locally-sourced Hokkaido timber to reduce transportation energy consumption. In an era where living space comfort is paramount, CondeHouse remains dedicated to manufacturing beautiful, durable furniture designed for longevity while maintaining environmentally responsible manufacturing, transportation, and sales practices that minimize ecological impact.

JAPAN FURNITURE SHOW by IFFT 2025

Event Information

We are pleased to exhibit our new "HUG" chair, which was launched in June of this year. This product represents the commercialization of our Gold Leaf Award-winning design from the International Furniture Design Competition Asahikawa (IFDA) 2024. At the JFS main venue, we will display the chair in its original award-winning configuration, while at CondeHouse Tokyo Shop, visitors can experience the refined production version that incorporates extensive development improvements. Additionally, our showroom features comprehensive dining and living room presentations showcasing our "Keshizumi Select Items" collection, which draws inspiration from the traditional Japanese color "Keshizumi-iro" and is crafted exclusively from Hokkaido-sourced elm timber. This collection has received exceptional market reception since its launch and continues to attract significant customer attention.

Limited-Time Display: New "HUG Chair"
"November 1st (Saturday) - November 9th (Sunday), 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM *Closed on November 5th (Wednesday)"

The "Hug Chair" lives up to its name as a chair designed to embrace those who sit in it. This instantly captivating form was created by Chinese designer Zhu Yuhao. He explains, "I designed a chair that warmly welcomes people of all body types and postures as a means of building more intimate relationships between wooden furniture and people." Finished with a gentle oil treatment that provides a soft tactile experience, this chair envelops users in a comfort unlike any other seating solution.

The "Keshizumi Select Items" collection, which has been well-received since its spring expansion across our flagship series, includes our popular "Quad Living (15)" modular sofa system among its offerings. We have enhanced the collection with new additions such as armless angle sofas to accommodate a broader range of applications. Through this innovative collaboration between Hokkaido elm timber and the traditional Japanese color "Keshizumi-iro" , we present lifestyle scenarios that demonstrate a distinctive new aesthetic approach.
