Event Information
The “ARIAKE Design Workshop” held in October 2025 is one of the most important initiatives in defining ARIAKE. This year again, designers from around the world stayed in Saga for a week, working closely with ARIAKE’s craftsmen to bring their new ideas to life. During JFS, we will present a special exhibition showcasing the intense exchanges between designers and craftsmen during the workshop, as well as the prototypes that were born from those encounters.

Here, dynamic state-of-the-art machinery coexists with the delicate handwork of skilled artisans, as solid timber is gradually transformed into refined chairs—a true glimpse into the essence of Japanese craftsmanship. Our Open Factory program is available year-round by advance reservation. We welcome you to witness our production site first-hand and gain a deeper appreciation of the artistry and value embodied in every chair.
