KOJIMA KOUGEI

Kojima Kougei was founded in 1886 (Meiji 19) in Asakusa, Tokyo, by its original founder who was a master craftsman of Edo sashimono (traditional Japanese joinery). As we approach our 140th anniversary in 2026, we continue to uphold the legacy of artisanal woodworking through our premium study and office furniture. Now led by the fourth-generation president, Katsutoshi Kojima, our company remains dedicated to creating refined, high-quality wooden furniture that brings elegance and peace of mind to living spaces. Every piece is carefully crafted in our own factory located in Toride City, Ibaraki Prefecture, ensuring full domestic production. We are officially certified by the Japan Furniture Industry Development Association as a recognized "Domestic Furniture Manufacturer," having passed their rigorous quality standards. In addition, since 2013, we have maintained our status as a certified "Legally-Sourced Timber Supplier" under guidelines established by Japan's Forestry Agency, ensuring our materials are both legal and sustainable. All Kojima Kogei products are covered under the "SAFE" Product Liability Insurance program. To date, we have never had a product-related safety issue, a testament to our uncompromising standards. With our core values of Health, Safety, and Peace of Mind, we are committed to excellence in material selection, structural strength, and earthquake resistance—crafting furniture that not only looks beautiful but also provides lasting safety and reliability.
