The Shirakawa Tokyo Showroom is exhibiting the “NIPPON COLLECTION,” unveiled at the Hida Furniture Festival this summer. Featuring tabletops crafted from prefectural wood nurtured in forests across Japan, this new series was born from an initiative to support regional forestry and the future of woodlands. It represents a fusion of sustainable resources and the craftsmanship of Hida artisans.
NIPPON COLLECTION in Tokyo Nov. 1 (Sat) – Nov. 9 (Sun), 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM ※Closed: Nov. 5 (Wed)
Shirakawa Tokyo Showroom will exhibit the “NIPPON COLLECTION,” furniture crafted from locally sourced Japanese hardwoods that celebrate the richness of Japan’s forests. Tabletops are finished with Hokkaido birch and Iwate chestnut, while legs are available in four different designs. By highlighting the beauty and durability of hardwoods, this collection aims to promote sustainable furniture making that protects and nurtures forests and forestry.

We are exhibiting the “TRES RAPT” dining chairs designed by Kiyoshi Sadokawa, crafted from domestic birch wood. Pursuing a concept of simple luxury, each piece is made with carefully selected materials and meticulous craftsmanship. Now, domestic birch has been newly added to the available options. By using Japanese-grown wood, we contribute to forest conservation and the revitalization of local communities in Japan.
Guided by our design philosophy of “100-Year Modern,” we create furniture that blends Japanese aesthetics with modern living. Visitors can experience up close the craftsmanship of our artisans and our careful attention to materials.
