The creative vision behind the special exhibition at the main Midtown Tokyo venue is driven by creative director Seiichi Saito, producer of countless projects in urban and societal settings, and internationally-acclaimed product designer Jin Kuramoto, who is particularly renowned for his furniture design. Based on the theme of “The Power of Japanese Furniture Made One,” both creators charted out the overall direction of this project and put a framework in place to communicate its philosophy to visitors.
Bringing this vision to life in visual form is graphic designer Shogo Kishino, immediately and intuitively communicating the project’s essence through a coherent worldview as told by design elements including the logo and key visuals.
Building on this vision are exhibition spaces designed by Yusuke Mizobata of VOID, whose work straddles the disciplines of architecture and art. Compositions making expert use of materials and the sense of scale are sure to inspire new appreciation of Japanese furniture in visitors.
Presented by the Japan Furniture Industry Development Association
In cooperation with Tokyo Midtown and the Japan Institute of Design Promotion
