With over 350 member companies, comprising furniture makers, workshops and related businesses nationwide, the Japan Furniture Industry Development Association plays a central role in this initiative aiming to foster a singular brand for Japanese furniture. From the Frontlines of Furniture Making to the Streets of Tokyo: Telling the Story of Japanese Furniture

In June and July, furniture makers all over Japan opened their workshop doors to visitors for JAPAN FURNITURE MONTH 2025, offering a rare opportunity to experience the frontlines of furniture production. In October and November, the JAPAN FURNITURE SHOW by IFFT 2025 carries on the spirit of IFFT’s 45-year tradition as a showcase for Japanese furniture. With a concept of “From Congruence to Dispersion,” this new type of exhibition takes the streets of Tokyo as its stage. Held in summer and fall, respectively, these JAPAN FURNITURE events represent two opportunities to communicate the wonder and value of Japanese furniture during the year.
